Corey Alphin Joins First Bank and Trust Company of Virginia

First Bank and Trust Co. of Virginia is pleased to announce the appointment of Corey J. Alphin as Senior Vice President/Regional Manager, overseeing the company’s operations across its three offices in eastern North Carolina. In this role, Alphin will lead strategic growth initiatives, oversee local teams, and strengthen the bank’s commitment to relationship-based community banking throughout the state.

Alphin brings 25 years of banking experience to First Bank and Trust Co. of Virginia, with a proven track record in commercial lending, leadership development, and market expansion.

Since expanding its physical footprint into North Carolina in 2021, First Bank and Trust Co. of Virginia has continued to build a solid and sustainable presence in the state. The bank currently serves clients through full-service offices in Red Oak, Lillington, and Mount Airy, as well as a non-branch bank office in Clinton, with plans to open a fourth full-service office in Wilson in the near term. Since entering the North Carolina market, the bank has experienced consistent loan and deposit growth, reflecting steady customer adoption, thoughtful expansion, and disciplined growth across its local markets.

Alphin is a graduate of Campbell University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration. He is also a graduate of OMEGA Commercial Lending School (2005), RMA Commercial Lending School (2006), and the North Carolina School of Banking (2024).
