“Supporting our communities is at the heart of who we are,” said Mark Nelson, President & CEO of First Bank and Trust Company. “We are grateful for the opportunity to give back to these organizations that provide vital resources to our neighbors. Their work ensures that more families have access to nutritious food, especially during a time of year that can be difficult for many.”

The donations were made by First Bank and Trust offices throughout Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina, each selecting a food bank or charitable organization within its local community. This approach allows teams to directly support the organizations making the biggest impact close to home.

Throughout the holiday season, representatives from First Bank and Trust branches visited their selected organizations to present donation checks and express their appreciation for the essential services these groups provide.

“We are incredibly grateful to First Bank and Trust Company for their generous support and continued partnership,” said Rhonda Chafin, Executive Director of Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee. “This donation will help us provide nutritious food to food-insecure neighbors across our eight-county region at a time when the need is especially great. Because of partners like First Bank and Trust, we are able to reach more families, seniors, and children with the food they need to thrive, and we are thankful for their commitment to strengthening the communities we serve.”
