Important Security Alert: ACH Phishing Scam Targeting Business Customers

December 4, 2025

We want to make all customers aware of a new scam currently circulating in the financial industry. Several banks have reported that fraudsters are calling customers while impersonating their ACH Fraud Department. Their goal is to steal online banking credentials and initiate unauthorized ACH withdrawals from customer accounts.

While this scam has not originated at our bank, it is affecting customers at other financial institutions—and awareness is key to preventing losses.

How the Scam Works

  1. The customer receives a phone call from someone claiming to be from the bank’s ACH Fraud Department.
  2. The scammer claims a suspicious ACH transaction has been detected and that immediate action is required.
  3. They ask the customer to log in to a fake online banking site, often by sending a link to a page designed to look nearly identical to the bank’s legitimate login page.
  4. When the customer enters their credentials, the scammer captures the username and password.
  5. With those stolen credentials, the fraudster logs in to the customer’s real online banking and initiates actual ACH transfers—stealing funds.

How to Protect Yourself

Your security is our top priority. Please remember these critical guidelines:

  1. Never share your Online Banking login information with anyone.

No employee or department at our bank will ever ask for your online banking username or password.

  2. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately.

Then, contact us using the phone number posted on our website or your account statements. Do not call back a number provided by the caller.
  3. Beware of fake websites.

Always make sure you’re accessing online banking through our official website or mobile app. Avoid clicking on login links sent by email or text, unless you are certain they are legitimate.

  4. Report suspicious activity immediately.

If you believe you may have shared your credentials with a scammer or noticed unusual activity on your account, contact us right away. Our Fraud and E-Banking teams will help secure your account and take appropriate action.
