Pack the Bus 2025: Powered by Community, Driven by Purpose

At First Bank and Trust Company, being a community bank means more than offering financial services—it means showing up, giving back, and making a lasting impact in the communities we serve. That’s exactly what our team, customers, and communities have done once again during our annual Pack the Bus event.

What started eight years ago as a small, grassroots effort led by one of our branches, has grown into a powerful, company-wide movement. From a single location to communities across our entire footprint, Pack the Bus has become one of our most impactful annual initiatives. In 2025, we’re proud to say it’s reached new heights. Thanks to the unwavering generosity of our customers, employees, and community partners who continue to rally around local students year after year.

Throughout this summer, our branches became collection hubs filled with the energy of giving. Community members and customers stepped up to donate everything from backpacks and notebooks to pencils and craft supplies—ensuring that students in our local school systems start the school year prepared and confident.

This effort is deeply rooted in our belief that every child deserves the tools they need to succeed, no matter their situation. When students walk into the classroom equipped with supplies, they’re better able to focus on learning, creativity, and connection. And that’s what Pack the Bus is all about, removing barriers so our future leaders can thrive.

Going Further With Corporate Giving

To further strengthen our impact, we continued our tradition of corporate giving by donating a total of $65,000 directly to school systems in the communities we serve. These funds support teachers, administrators, and students with everything from classroom resources to essential programming.

This commitment reflects not only our values as a community bank, but also the incredible dedication of our team members. Our employees rally around Pack the Bus each year with enthusiasm, creativity, and a deep sense of purpose. They don’t just collect supplies, they engage with schools, host events, and build connections that last long after the buses drive away.
