First Bank and Trust Company Announces the Promotion of Bradley Webb to the Agricultural Lending Division Manager

ABINGDON, Virg., Aug. 7, 2024 – First Bank and Trust Company and its parent holding company, First Bancorp, Inc., is pleased to announce the promotion of Bradley Webb to the position of Agricultural Lending Division Manager. Webb succeeds Keith Phillips, who established First Bank and Trust Company's Agricultural Lending Division in 2001 and led it to significant growth during his 23-year tenure as the division manager before retirement.

 Webb will now lead the Agricultural Lending Division, which includes a team of 34 Agricultural Lenders servicing the agricultural credit and banking needs of customers across eight states, including Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

Bradley Webb is an accomplished professional with a strong educational background and extensive experience in agricultural lending. He is an alumnus of Virginia Tech, where he obtained both a Bachelor's and a Master of Science degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics. Bradley started his career with First Bank and Trust Company in 2006 as an intern before returning to a full-time position as a Management Trainee following graduation in 2008.

During his 18 years with First Bank and Trust Company, Webb has gained tremendous experience across many areas of the bank, having previously served as a Credit Analyst, Branch Manager, Commercial and Agricultural Lender, and Regional Supervisor in the Agricultural Lending Division.

Webb attributes his readiness to step into his new role of leading the 5th-ranked Ag Bank in the Nation to his work under the direction of Keith Phillips during his time as the Assistant Division Manager. Bradley stated, “I am deeply thankful for an excellent mentor, and for the opportunities the Bank has provided me, which have been pivotal in my journey to assume the responsibility of the Division Manager. I look forward to upholding our tradition of success and continuing the Bank’s commitment to being a stable and sound financial partner to our region’s agricultural industry."

Webb owns and operates a multi-generational cattle farm in Waynesboro, Virginia, where he resides with his wife and their five children.
