Travis Merrell Promoted to Vice President/ Treasury Management Supervisor at First Bank and Trust

BRISTOL, Tenn., May 12, 2025 – First Bank and Trust Company and its parent holding company, First Bancorp, Inc., is pleased to announce the promotion of Travis Merrell to Vice President, Treasury Management Supervisor. With 23 years of banking experience, Merrell will now take on a broader leadership role overseeing the bank’s commercial deposit and treasury operations.

In his new position, Merrell will be responsible for leading, developing, and managing commercial deposit and treasury operations to enhance the bank’s commercial services. His work will include evaluating new commercial market products and solutions to meet evolving client needs, managing product solutions, and enhancing the commercial client experience.

A native of Southwest Virginia, Merrell graduated with honors from East Tennessee State University and is an honor graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking. His deep knowledge of the banking industry and proven commitment to service position him well to lead strategic initiatives that will deliver meaningful results to the bank’s commercial clients.
